In June Rostekhnadzor Inquired into 8 Incidents at Rosenergoatom NPPs
OREANDA-NEWS. July 11, 2007. All incidents were classified as “0” on the INES scale, reported the press-centre of Rostekhnadzor.
As of early July 2007 the 10 Rosenergoatom NPPs operated 31 units with a total capacity of 23,242 MW.
No accidents or emergencies were registered at the Russian NPPs in June.
All the plants operated safely. The radiation background in the NPPs zones was within norm.
On June 4 Leningrad NPP stopped its 2nd unit because of unloading of two turbines.
On June 5 Leningrad NPP reduced the capacity of its 1st unit to 50% because of worsened water chemistry in the main condenser.
On June 6 Leningrad NPP reduced the capacity of its 1st unit to 50% because of automatic vacuum reduction in the turbine generator 2.
On June 12, while testing the metal of the steam generator 1 of its 3rd unit, Novovoronezh NPP detected defects in the welded joint connecting the adapter ring to the header.
On June 13 Novovoronezh NPP detected a leak in the header of the steam generator 1 of its 3rd unit.
On June 18 Novovoronezh NPP reduced the capacity of its 5th unit by 25% because of false response of the stop valve.
On June 24 Kola NPP stopped its 3rd unit because of a short circuit in the power engine of the condensation pump.
On June 25 Kursk NPP stopped its 2nd unit because of a hydrogen leak in the turbine generator 4.
In five cases the inquiry is over, in three ones – underway.
