OREANDA-NEWS. The exhibition celebrating the city’s anniversary has been held under the auspices of the Kaliningrad City Administration and the Kaliningrad Chamber of Trade and Commerce.

Over 70 leading enterprises from the Kaliningrad Region, as well from Belarus, Lithuania, and Germany. During the event, the companies based in Kaliningrad and the Kaliningrad Region demonstrated their achievements. The companies named best in their respective business fields, including ROSNO’ Kaliningrad branch, were awarded with honorary certificates.

Insurance business was named as one of the region’s most promising development areas, along with such industries as foodstuffs, fishing, light industry, processing, construction, investment projects, and tourism.

"In 2006, in terms of growth in manufacturing, housing construction, wholesale and retail trade, the Kaliningrad Region took the lead over other regions of the North-Western Federal Area. The same favourable situation can be seen in social security; therefore, we will continue actively developing and improving insurance services in our city", comments Roza Merzlyakova, head of ROSNO’ Kaliningrad branch.
