OREANDA-NEWS. On July 05, 2007 commenting the International Olympic Committee (IOC) decision to give Sochi the right to host the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, Vladimir Potanin, the president of Interros company, expressed confidence that "2014 will become the year of Russia, at least its winter period", reported the press-centre of Interros.

Previously, in spring 2007, Interros envisaged to invest $500 mln. in construction of sports facilities in the region.

Potanin is convinced that the Alpine skiing complex that is under construction in Krasnaya Polyana "will be accessible to everyone".
