OREANDA-NEWS. On June 25, 2007 the team of the Zlatoust Metallurgical Plant (the city of Zlatoust, Chelyabinsk region), which is a part of the management company of the Electric Steel of Russia holding, has won the II Spartacus Games organized, in Volgograd, by the ESTAR group of companies for its employees, reported the press-centre of ESTAR.

The contestants included teams from Volgograd, Zlatoust, Novosibirsk, Nytva, Engels, and Rostov region – more that 150 athletes-metallurgists overall. The teams competed in seven varieties of sports – darts, table tennis, mini-football, swimming, chess, tug-of-war, obstacles course. The ZMP team came out a winner in almost all events, except the tug-of-war contest, won by the Volgograd team.

In swimming and obstacles race the athletes from Zlatoust broke the Spartacus games record. In team classification the ZMP team won by a head over its competitors. The Zlatousters garnered the Winner’s Cup (grand-prix) and the medals.
