OREANDA-NEWS. June 29, 2007. First layer of the dome of the 2nd unit of Rostov NPP has been installed. In June specialists of Rostov Construction and Installation Department of MosSoyuzatomenergomontazh (MosSAEM) installed the lower layer of the containment of the 2nd unit of Rostov NPP. The 90-ton metal structure was fixed by means of 100- and 75-ton cranes.

The operation was supervised by the deputy chief engineer of the department A.Volodin and the head of the technical department Y.Puatibratov.

The head of the RCSD of MosSAEM Konstantin Borodin has commented on the operation:

The operation was carried out by the crews of V.Komarov and G.Serdukov under the supervision of the head of Section N1 Oleg Borodin. The most responsible part of the work was carried out by the crew of Dmitry Ganchitsky. I think that our men did their job brilliantly. Now we are starting to install the second layer of the dome – a 70-ton metal structure. The preparatory work is almost finished and in July the layer will be fixed.
