OREANDA-NEWS. June 28, 2007.  An automated system of maintenance planning (TOPO) of power grids based on the ERP-system SAP R/3 has been introduced in the grid companies of JSC IDGC of the Center and North Caucasus.

From 19 till 21 of June in JSC Bryanskenergo the first group of future TOPO module users, consisting of maintenance service, high-voltage lines and substations, distribution control grids and departments of JSC Bryanskenergo, completed its training. Earlier, in May 2007, similar projects were started in JSC Tulenergo and JSC Kurskenergo.

“JSC IDGC of the Center and North Caucasus is establishing single control systems of technological grid complex and energy accounting”, says Evgeny Makarov, the General Director. “The absence of a single approach in maintenance and energy accounting does not allow to use advanced developments in reliability, safety and efficiency management of technical complexes and technological processes. Therefore, starting with 2006 DGC have been introducing SAP R/3 based CISSM (Complex Integrated System of Source Management) in order to create a single management tool for main business processes, standardization of DGC processes, introduction of advanced practices of production control and further diversify DGC work.

In 2007 the primary task is to introduce the TOPO module (maintenance), therefore all grid companies have started to form a grid topology, undergo equipment certification and establish an energy accounting system.”

The introduction of this system will allow to create a single electronic data base of power grids, see a graphic display of their topology, connect metering devices and customers to the equipment of substations and grids, control power distribution and read rates of the automated system of commercial energy accounting, as well as control maintenance procedures.

According to the program of JSC IDGC of the Center and North Caucasus, the introduction of the TOPO module is the beginning of technological process automatization and the establishment of an energy accounting system. The introduction of SAP R/3 software products is a long-term project, which shall be completed in 2009.
