New Ruslan Modification Certified by Interstate Aviation Committee
OREANDA-NEWS. June 25, 2007. At the 47th International Paris Air Show at Le Bourget, the Russian and Ukrainian Interstate Aviation Committee presented a Supplement to Aircraft Type certificate to confirm that the new Ruslan AN-124-100M-150 freighter aircraft modification is compliant with all international regulations and aircraft safety requirements.
The certificate, granted by Vladimir Bespalov, Aviation Register Chairman, Interstate Aviation Committee, was presented at a ceremony attended by all participants in the project to resume production of the unique freighter aircraft. The representatives included Dmitry Kiwa, ADB General Designer, Alexey Isaikin, President of Volga-Dnepr Group, Vyacheslav Boguslaev, General Director of Motor Sich and Anatoly Golovko, Industrial Policy Minister of Ukraine.
“Today marks another significant step in our project to launch production of a new, modified version of the AN-124 cargo aircraft,” said Alexey Isaikin, President of Volga-Dnepr Group at the ceremony. “The AN-124-100 remains an unrivalled modern aircraft in terms of its operating capability. Today is further evidence that the freighter has a great future.”
The АN-124-100 Ruslan is a unique freighter that remains unmatched in the world market in terms of capacity, range and cost. The Ruslan is the only freighter able to carry cargo up to 150 tonnes in weight and 6.5 meter in diameter. The aircraft is recognised globally for its operational capability and provides transport solutions for major international businesses such as General Electric, The Boeing Company, General Motors, Ford, British Petroleum, Mitsubishi, BMW, Airbus Industrie, Siemens, Rosoboronexport and other major oil and production companies.
