On 21th of June Edouard Dayan, Director General of Universal Postal Union, Nurudin Mukhitdinov, Director General of Executive Committee of Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications, Igor Syrtsov, Director General of FSUE Russian Post drawn the results of VIII International Strategic Forum "Pochtovaya Troika — 2007".

The representatives of Universal Postal Union, Association of European Postal Operators PostEurop, Commonwealth in the field of Communications and 300 participants from 26 countries all over the world took part in the three-day discussions devoted to the problem of further development of postal sector.

The participants of the Forum discussed social and commercial aspects of postal operators work, universal postal service, financial and postal-banking services that make the work of postal operators more significant and necessary for the people living in the remote settlements. New equipment for post offices, solutions on their automation and improvement of service quality was demonstrated within the framework of the exhibition of postal technologies.

Edouard Dayan noted that much has been on development of strategic planning and the results of the Forum meet the high expectations has been set before its beginning. He noted the necessity of further postal sector integration in information-oriented society as the core result of the event. Due to the specific character postal service has great opportunities and high perspectives for development. Almost all the reports of the Forum touched the problem of financial services. Thus world post has more serious goals as prevention of money laundering and establishment of world network of electronic postal orders, said Mr. Dayan. Postal service needs to be automated further on and its quality of services to be improved. For the last years postal operators have progressed immensely in this sphere. 134 countries use the technology of bar-code in the process of mail delivery that reflects in annual delivery speed improvement.

Igor Syrtsov said that "Look into the future", the motto of "Pochtovaya Troika — 2007" has fully proved its meaning. The participants of the Forum have looked at new opportunities of postal operators and plans of their further development. He also noted the significance of the Conference of Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications within the framework of the preparation of the project Postal Strategy in Nairobi.
