OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2007. The level of utilization of associated petroleum gas by TNK-BP will rise up to 95% in 2010–2011, said Sergey Brezitsky, Executive Vice President, Upstream, TNK-BP.

“Attaining the level of 95% in utilization of associated petroleum gas is a high priority for us,” said Mr. Brezitsky. TNK-BP has established a joint venture with Sibur in Nizhnevartovsk. Apart from that, development of a scheme for utilization of associated petroleum gas in Orenburg is currently underway, for which the Company is going to allocate $300 million.

One of the most important lines of associated gas utilization is using associated petroleum gas for maintaining reservoirs pressure (injection of gas into reservoirs). This technology will be used in the Samotlor field.
