IAS Net Profit of SIBUR Up 2,5-fold in 2006 to RUR 21,4bn
OREANDA-NEWS. IAS net profit of petrochemical major SIBUR went up 2,5-fold in 2006 to RUR 21,4bn (USD 807,5mn). Interestingly, the company’s revenues went up by only 14% to RUR 121,9bn.
SIBUR’s operating profit rose by 48% to RUR 28,2bn. The company explains such surge in profits by optimized production. Most likely this is related to the reorganization of the company. It addition, SIBUR enjoys access to cheap raw materials because it is affiliated with Gazprom. The company claims that it buys raw materials with Gazprom using market prices.
