OREANDA-NEWS. During January-May of current year, total pipe deliveries to enterprises of oil and gas sector of Russia made up about 1,9 mln.t, which is by 20% more than last year’s demand for the same period. At that, in total structure of consumption in industry, the share of Transneft increased by 10% last year and till 30% this year.

Growth of pipe deliveries for construction of pipelines exceeded last year’s results by 3,2 times, as to the results of the mentioned period. Such an intensive jump was caused by, above all, VSTO’s demand in pipes, and also, by growth of deliveries for other goals.

Gazprom, in comparison with last year, shortened its demand for pipes a little bit (till the level of  2005), however, this is temporary, mostly because of unfinished SEG project.

In general, Russian market of pipes preserves targeting at raw materials. Such a situation is likely to be preserved for a long time, only the structure of main suppliers can change: plans of Russian pipe producers on development of production allow to expect gradual decrease of import share at Russian pipe market in future.
