OREANDA-NEWS. Integrated Power Sales Company LLC (managed by Russian Utility Systems) was able to bring down accounts receivable by nearly 95 million roubles in May, thanks to a series of comprehensive measures.

The total figure of subscribers' debts for consumed energy resources remains significant at over 1,3 billion roubles. Almost half of that amount is represented by debts for electric power. Around 590 million roubles are debts for heating supplied by the company.

Claims and lawsuits are among the proven methods to stimulate debtors to pay. IPSC lawyers prepared and served 8,569 notices of intending to send the case to arbitration during May. Most of these claims (7,958) were addressed to individual subscribers. Most of the consumers on whom the warnings were served (around 60%) decided not to allow the case to go to court and paid their debts. Six hundred and seventy-four consumers were taken to court in May.  Most lawsuits were satisfied by the court.

From time to time, the company has to take tougher measures with regard to debtors and limit the supply of energy resources. Thus, such measures were taken with regard to 92 legal entities and 1,433 individual consumers in May.

The money from the discharged accounts receivable is extremely important for the utility company in summer when repairs and winterisation of pipelines and power lines are in full swing.
