OREANDA-NEWS. IlimSibLes (Ust-Ilimsk group of logging companies of forest industry corporation Ilim Pulp) intends to spend RUB 3,8 million on reforestation works.

During this year, IlimSibLes specialists plan to prepare 1 948 hectares for planting, plant seeds on 968 hectares, and plant saplings on 300 hectares within the framework of artificial reforestation measures. In May 2007, seeds were planted on 308,6 hectares, 8,6 hectares more than was planned. Saplings were planted on the territory of 98 hectares, 8 hectares more than was planned.

It is planned to carry out assisting natural renewal of forest on the area of 8 245 hectares. Care of plantations is to cover over 390 hectares.

Viktor Ipatenkov, Deputy General Director of IlimSibLes, is confident that IlimSibLes specialists will provide highly efficient reforestation works, which requires no less than 86% establishment of forest plantation.
