OREANDA-NEWS. June 15, 2007. In the 1st quarter of 2007 JSC “IDGC of the Center and North Caucasus” transferred 336 million rubles for repairs of the electric grids in subordinated DGCs, including 26.76 mln rubles for the repairs of 35–110 kV electric lines, 51.53 mln rubles for the repairs of 35–110 kV substations equipment, 170 mln rubles - for the repairs of 0,4–20 kV electric grids, 26.42 mln rubles for clearing the routes of air electric lines.

Against the previous year’s results of the same period the expenses on implementing the repair program were reduced (610.8 mln rubles were transferred for that purpose in the 1st quarter of 2006).

“High wear of the main assets in the electric grid complex urged the industry to transfer the major part of the monies for maintaining the electric grids’ equipment. Occasionally, it looked like “patching old holes”, notes Sergey Glushchenko, Head of the IDGC Repair and Exploitation Department. “This year the financing strategy has been completely changed: the money was transferred for reconstruction, technical upgrading and new construction of the electric grid units”.

Repairs of 815.79 km of 35-100kV air electric lines, major overhauling at 27 35-110kV substations and thorough repairs of 10 MVA transformers were completed in the 1st quarter of 2007. On top of it, 4,539.6 km of 0.4–10 grids and 1,385 6–10/0.4 transformer substations also underwent repair works. It is important to note, that in the current year the company is applying a complex approach to the repair works.

Special attention was paid to clearing the routes of the air electric mains, while increasing the reliability of power supply to consumers remains a priority objective and the analysis of accidents in the recent years shows that a considerable number of the air electric lines cut-outs was caused by bushes and trees short-circuiting them. 991 hectares of glades of 35-110 kV air electric lines and 1,654.8 hectares of glades of 6-10 kV air electric lines were cleared in the 1st quarter of 2007.
