TransContainer Has Established New Representative Office
OREANDA-NEWS. June 15, 2007. In the framework of the exhibition Transport Logistic-2007 taken place in Munich TransContainer, JSC opened the representative office there, reports the press-service of the company.
According to Petr Baskakov, general director of the company, this representative office will organize cargo transportation by its own rolling-stock and containers. It also will get cargo to be transported by foreign trade railway routes via Russia and Germany. Besides, the office will help to establish new container lines.
In 2006 the volume of containers transportation between Russia and Germany totaled 71.9 thousand TEU, including 3.4 thousand TEU of transit. During the first 4 months of the current year compared to the last year same period transit between Russia and Germany grew by 143% and amounted to 2.5 thousand TEU. The total volume of containers transported via Russia and Germany was more than 22.7 thousand TEU.
