OREANDA-NEWS. June 14, 2007. Members of the BP Technology Advisory Council visited the Samotlor field, one of the largest fields in the world. The main goal of their visit was to see and assess the field and try to work out proposals for its development. The BP Technology Advisory Council consists professors of the most renowned universities of the world and technology luminaries and professionals. The Samotlor field hosted such guests for the first time.

The guests were amazed by the ultra-modern technologies currently used by TNK-BP. Says Sir Robin Nicholson, Chairman of the BP Technology Advisory Council: “We are deeply impressed by the latest state-of-the-art technologies used in this field. Apart from that, we were surprised by the complexity of the field relief and the tremendous attention paid here to compliance with the environmental protection norms and regulations.”
