OREANDA-NEWS. The repairs will last for 21 days. The safety systems will be checked up. The repair personnel will test the base welds of the distributing collectors and the multiple controlled circulation system so as to detect and remove possible defects.

They will also inspect 55 assembly channels and the reactor joints, replace the power-control rods, etc..

Presently, the 2nd unit of LNPP is operating at a capacity of 850 MW. The capacity is being gradually raised.

The total capacity of the 3rd and 4th units is 1,550 MW.

The planned total capacity of the three units is 2,500 MW.

The radiation background at the plant and in the nearby area is within norm.
