OREANDA-NEWS. June 13, 2007. Representatives of the CEZ, RAO UESR and management of Open JSC TGC-4 on May 31, 2007 discussed Memorandum on the general terms of establishment of the joint venture.

The visit of CEZ engineers was in connection with the Memorandum of Understanding on the cooperation in reforming the Russian electricity sector, which signed on April 27, 2007 by Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of CEZ Martin Roman, Chairman of the Management Board of RAO "UES of Russia" Anatoly Chubais, and Director General of TGC-4 Gennady Kochetkov. The MoU states that CEZ has an interest in reforming Russia's electricity sector and is prepared to assist, as a strategic partner to TGC-4, in building new generation units at the site of the Shchekinskaya TPP - construction of 400-420 MW combined-cycle unit, two coal - fired power units of 200-250 MW, and modernizing the plant's existing power units. Open JSC TGC-4 and CEZ will establish a joint venture to implement the construction project.

CEZ engineers has visited Shchekinskaya TPP with the purpose of study of the power plant work, inspection of the possible site for building new generation units.
