Gomselmash to Export at Least 150 Grain Harvesters in 2007
OREANDA-NEWS. This year in line with signed contracts Belarusian agricultural machinery producer Gomselmash will export at least 150 grain harvesters, 30% more than it was initially planned, head of the far abroad sales department of the company Igor Korotkevich told BelTA, reported the press-centre of Gomelinvest.
Foreign customers will get Polesie-1218 and Polesie-7 harvesters.
Gomselmash plans to ship the make mainly to Russia and Ukraine. Besides, Kazakhstan agricultural companies have already bought eight harvesters. Gomselmash dealers in Czechia and China have sold several harvesters, too.
In the near future certification tests of the KZS-7 combine harvester will start in Iran. Negotiations on supplying grain harvesters to Poland, Lithuania, Venezuela and Argentina are underway.
Experts believe, Gomselmash has made a breakthrough in exporting grain harvesting machinery. Before 2007 the company used to sell all single-use grain harvesters on the home market. According to Igor Korotkevich, the company is working hard to get Gomselmash harvesters certified abroad. In particular, this year Gomselmash expects to be granted the permission to export KZS-7 harvesters to the eurozone.
Production association Gomselmash manufactures machines for cultivating and harvesting popular crops using the latest farming technologies. The company’s product range includes combine harvesters and harvesters for grain crops, sugar beet, and potato. Gomselmash also offers mowers and complex soil cultivating machines.
Gomselmash design, manufacturing and service practices are certified for compliance with the international quality management system ISO 9001-2001.
In 2006 Gomselmash exported almost $56 million worth of commodities, nearly 55,3% up on 2005. Last year Gomselmash won the contest “Belarus’ Best Products” and became a laureate of the contest “Belarus’ Best Products in the Russian Federation”.
