UC RUSAL Appoints New General Director of Zaporozhye Aluminium Smelter
OREANDA-NEWS. On June 07, 2007 United Company RUSAL, the world’s largest producer of aluminium and alumina, has appointed Alexander Kotyuk as General Director of Zaporozhye Aluminium and Alumina Complex. Prior to this, Alexander Kotyuk held the position of Commercial Director at the complex, reported the press-centre of RUSAL.
In his new role Alexander Kotyuk will run the Zaporozhye Aluminium and Alumina Complex within the framework of UC RUSAL’s development strategy. His responsibilities will include the improvement of the complex’s structure in line with the organisational, management and production practices currently employed at UC RUSAL’s facilities. He will also be in charge of increasing production efficiency, improving manufacturing processes and introducing high international environmental, health and safety standards.
Biographical Note:
Alexander Kotyuk was born on June 16, 1959 in Zaporozhye, Ukraine. In 1982 he qualified as a Mechanical Engineer from the Zaporozhye Machine-Building Institute with a degree in Machines and Casting Technology. In 1984 he began work at Dneprovsky Aluminium Smelter in the Ukraine as a Metals Caster and was then promoted to Senior Foreman of the Reduction Area. In 1991 he became a Director of the Extrusion Profile Plant at Zaporozhye Aluminium and Alumina Complex. Since 1993 he has held various top positions at the complex including Head of the Engineering Department and in November 2003, was appointed Commercial Director.
In 1999 Alexander Kotyuk was awarded the title "Honored Metallurgist of the Ukraine".
