Metrowagonmash Has Manufactured a Unique Water-Color Train for the Moscow Metro
OREANDA-NEWS. June 01, 2007. Metrowagonmash located in Mitishi (MWM, a CJS Transmashholding member) has manufactured an Water-color Train that is unique in the world. The train is designed in cooperation with the Moscow Water-color School of Sergey Andriaka on the Moscow metro order, reported the press-centre of Transmashholding.
It is to become the first underground moving art exhibition in the world, the present of the Russian capital metro devoted to the International Child Protection Day in favor of the Child Year announced in Russia.
The MWM worked out a specialized design for the Water-color Train. The train is made of five new 81-740/741 Rusich metro cars (2 head cars, 3 intermediate cars).
The standard Rusich cars have been changed to house the art exhibition. The car bodies have fewer windows and seats. The train passengers will be able to enjoy a total of 45 pieces of art by the people's artist Sergey Andriaka and his students. All the works have been carefully selected by specialists. Every car has its unique color scheme, namely cerise, blue, gray, olive and brown. The colors were chosen to fit the pictures and to make them look an integral part of the saloon.
The unusual train is covered with pictures of huge flowers and fruits.
The train has its pilot passenger run on June 1 and runs every day on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Moscow metro line from Partisanskaya (former Izmaylonsky Park) to Park Pobedy from the noon to 3 p.m.
