Orenburg Hosts “Development of Natural Gas Fields Cointaing Nonhydrocarbon Components” Conference
OREANDA-NEWS. June 6, 2007. The town of Orenburg has hosted the International Sci-Tech Conference “Development of Natural Gas Fields Containing Nonhydrocarbon Components” held as part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of Orenburggazprom (a wholly owned subsidiary of Gazprom).
The Conference was dedicated to the operating background colligation and analysis for the Orenburg oil and gas condensate and other fields containing sulfuretted hydrogen as well as to the development of integrated gas chemicals facilities based on those fields.
The meeting was attended by a Gazprom delegation chaired by Vasily Podyuk, Member of the Gazprom Management Committee, Head of Department of Gas, Gas Condensate and Oil Production; specialists of Gazprom’s subsidiaries, representatives of companies and organizations from Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, USA, Great Britain, Canada, China, Netherlands, Switzerland, Croatia, Serbia as well as an UN EEC Gas Center delegation.
The Conference highly appreciated the Gazprom Group heads and specialists’ unique experience successfully applied at the Orenburg, Astrakhan and Karachaganak fields.
Special attention was paid to the issues with regard to increasing the operating efficiency of gas production and processing companies, organizing the production of new high liquidity products and introducing new technologies aimed at fuel and energy complex development.
The Conference drew out the core development directions with promising fields containing sulfuretted hydrogen and other valuable nonhydrocarbon components ensuring sustainable and safe facility operation, including efficient solution of environmental and economic issue. It was recommended to intensify the scientific personnel activities training so as to meet scientific and production challenges in relation to integrated gas chemicals facilities at the final operating stage.
