Public Access Outlets Are Opened in Chechen Republic
OREANDA-NEWS. June 01, 2007. The implementation of the largest all-Russian social project "CyberPocht@" aiming at eliminating digital gap between people living in different regions of Russia will enable people in Chechen Republic to get access to world wide web as Russian Post opens public access outlets in nine post offices in the region, reported the press-centre of Russian Post.
Until recently the Chechen Republic was the only constituent entity of the Russian Federation that didn’t participate in the project "CyberPocht@".
First public access outlets already operate in Grozniy, Argun, Gudermes, Urus-Martan, Shali, village Shelkovskaya and in the settlements Achkhoy-Martan, Znamenskoe, Naurskoe. In future the enterprise plans to increase the number of public access outlets in Chechen Republic to 20 units.
