OREANDA-NEWS. June 6, 2007. First summer days were marked by foul weather conditions. In the result of storm wind with hail and fallen on the power lines trees, there took place large-scale power line cutoffs from 1 till 3 of June on the territory of Serovsk, Nizhnetagilsk and Artemovsk power networks.

To repair the damages emergency crews from practically all areas of power networks came on the place of trouble. The greatest challenge faced the crews of Serovsk power networks. Most of damaged power lines are situated in hard-to-reach boggy places where waters are out in the result of flood flow; besides these places are rather distant. Notwithstanding all this, the work of specialists from Serovsk power networks who were busy day and night during the weekends appeared to be very effective and the major part of power lines was put into service practically in no time. For the moment switched out are: section of power line 10 kW of feedline Pavda and feedline 10 kW Saltanovo-2 where salvage work continues and also power line 110 kW Gari-Puksinka.

Check of the switched out high voltage line 110 kW Gari-Puksinka which is situated in a distant hard-to-reach Garinsk area continues. To repair the line damages there was sent a helicopter with a team of Serovsk power engineers on this morning. The team was headed by Alexander Loshinin, chief engineer of Serovsk power station (power engineers were in Garinsk area in the last weekends for two times and right after the switch off the line, but air-crew had to return to Serov due to a number of reasons).

Other sites of Serovsk power networks which were switched out in the result of foul weather conditions have been put into service already.

Cold snap together with squall and snow provoked a great number of cutoffs in Nizhnetagilsk power networks area as well.

During twenty-four hours beginning from 7am on the 1st of June, dispatching department of the enterprise registered 22 cases of cutoff. They have happened mostly on the power line 6-10 kW in Nizhnetagilsk, Nizhneturinsk and Petrokamensk areas of power networks.

In particularly it concerns the old networks of villages Severka, Serebrjanka, Dalny and Volchevka. The networks were taken on technical servicing by Nizhnetagilsk power networks last year. Repair and renewal operations are conducted there now. Repair works are also continued in villages Nikolopavlovsk and Elizabeth of Prigorodny district. The first case is of nonconductor’s repair; the second – repair of wire breakage. It’s planned to finish the works till 3 pm and after it a voltage should be applied.

The majority of consumers didn’t suffer from the lines’ switch off being supplied by reserve sites.
