UC RUSAL Provides Additional Information on the Kidnapping in Nigeria
OREANDA-NEWS. June 5, 2007. on June 3, 2007, in Nigeria, in the southern part of Ikot Abasi town a group of militants attacked a residential community of UC RUSAL's employees. Six people, including five employees and one employee’s relative have been kidnapped.
Imoh Akpan, the driver, who worked for ALSCON, was shot dead.

Our company together with Russian and Nigerian government and power authorities undertakes all possible measures to free hostages and enhance security for the safety of our employees in Nigeria. We will do our best to assure the fastest return of our colleagues and their relatives", - said Alexander Bulygin, CEO of United Company RUSAL.
ALSCON employs 300 people, including 46 foreign citizens (44 Russian and 2 German).
