OREANDA-NEWS. June 1, 2007. Planned inspection on preparedness for localizing and liquidating natural and manmade emergencies finished at Beloyarsk NPP on May 31

The inspection was conducted by Rosenergoatom’s committee according to the schedule approved by the Rosenergoatom Director General for 2004–2008.

The committee comprised specialists of the Central Office of Rosenergoatom, its branches, Rosatom and the Press Center of the Nuclear Power Industry.

The key goal of the inspection was to see if the plant complies with the personnel protection, emergency response, civil defense and fire prevention rules. The experts inspected the plant’s emergency response systems. Special attention was given to the preparedness of the plant’s emergency, awareness and evacuation services for emergency situations.
 
The heads of the civil defense services reported to the committee on their preparedness for emergency situations. The committee inspected all the emergency response stations situated at the plant and in Zarechny.

The experts were satisfied with the results of their inspection but for some minor remarks. They instructed the personnel on how to further improve their civil defense and emergency response activities.

The inspection has shown that Beloyarsk NPP is ready for localizing and liquidating natural and manmade emergencies.
