OREANDA-NEWS. On May 29, 2007 in the city of Kazan Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee met with Mintimer Shaimiev, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, reported the press-centre of Gazprom. 

The parties discussed the progress with implementing the Agreement of cooperation between Gazprom and the Republic of Tatarstan. Particularly, the parties examined issues relevant to gas supply to the Republic, the gasification programs continuation, gas supplies to Tatarstan’s oil and chemical plants as well as prolongation of the existing Agreement of cooperation.

The Agreement of cooperation between Gazprom and the Republic of Tatarstan was signed in March 2001.

In 2006 Gazprom supplied 12,4 bcm of gas to the Republic and the same amount is slated for this year.

The Republic’s gasification level is on of the highest in Russia estimated at 91,2 per cent including 93 per cent in cities, towns & urban settlements and 88 per cent in rural area. The average rates in Russia are at 54 per cent, 61 per cent, 36 per cent, respectively.
