OREANDA-NEWS. The conference was led by the deputy director general-the director for development of Rosenergoatom Alexander Polushkin. The conferees discussed the problems of capital construction and NPP modernization as well as the tasks of the federal target program “Development of the Nuclear Power Industry of Russia in 2007-2010 and -2015”, reported the press-centre of  Rosenergoatom.

The deputy director general of Rosenergoatom-the director of Balakovo NPP Viktor Ignatov welcomed the conferees and pointed out the growing importance of capital construction in the nuclear power industry. “The development sector comprises not only capital construction, but also supply of materials and equipment and cooperation with research institutes. So, the role of this direction will continue to grow,” Ignatov said.

“The key development parameters concern the system planning of construction on both new sites (NPP-2006) and already existing facilities (life prolongation, resumption of unfinished constructions). The peculiarities of the budgetary financing and the structural changes in the nuclear power industry urge Rosenergoatom to more actively use modern economic instruments for involving the best construction companies and the most advanced technologies in the sector. And even though the general scheme of power facilities siting till 2020 has not yet been given the form of a law, it is quite a good basis for effective project planning. Today, we have everything for effectively planning our key parameters,” Polushkin said.
