Press service of “Sverdlovenergo” Public Company in response to information about allegedly preparing tax claims spread by some mass media, reports that Interregional Inspection of tax administration for largest taxpayers № 4 makes field tax inspection based on Decision about field auditing under date of 16.03.2007.

Auditing is not finished yet. Tax department didn’t take tax inspection formal note. There is still no decision on making “Sverdlovenergo” Public Company tax accountable. According to this information about non-payment of taxes should be considered inadequate. There is no reason to speak about tax claims to “Sverdlovenergo” Public Company.

Lada Podolskaya, the head of legal groundwork department of “Multiregion Distributive Network Public Company of Ural and Volga” made following comments:

“Auditing in “Sverdlovenergo” is not finished yet. It will last for some more months. There can be no talks on tax claims till it’s finished. Such information may be spread to bring down the stock value of “Sverdlovenergo” and to hoodwink stockholders and after it it’s possible that there will be an attempt to buy the controlling interest. This information appeared right on the eve of sale of another company which will be the next week. Those who are interested in spread of such information just try to cut down the investment interest to get money preference. This is not a secret. The fact of spread of such information is a bright evidence that “Sverdlovenergo” is really good asset. The only strange thing is that source of information said to be some legal adviser who must keep this information confidential according to the agreement made with the company”.
