Results of Beltelecom Participation in the 14th International Specialized Exhibition and Congress TIBO-2007
OREANDA-NEWS. May 22, 2007. At the exhibition TIBO-2007 the national operator presented its stand “Beltelecom in the Electronic Belarus Project” which exhibited both new telecommunications services and traditional services familiar to all customers, reported the press-centre of Beltelecom.
On the opening day, 24 April, a press-conference was held at Beltelecom`s stand. Konstantin Tikar, Director General, reported on the Company`s plans and prospects for 2007 within ‘Electronic Belarus” program, including, in particular, the construction of Metro Ethernet network, pilot launch of a Wi-Fi network, further development of broadband Internet access services, active participation in the development and building of the Information Society in Belarus.
The representatives of Beltelecom took part in the 14th Belarusian Congress on Information Society Technologies, which was held within the framework of TIBO-2007.
They made the following reports: the Internet national segment, new services and information resources (delivered by Konstantin Tikar), Beltelecom`s services to ensure the implementation of non-cash transactions, implementation of NGN-based Universal Post service.
On 26 April, at Beltelecom`s stand there was held a demonstration of children`s works – participants of the project "Revival. Children to the 21st Century". Pupils of Minsk secondary school #200, children from the National Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children, students-volunteers of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics and University of Culture as well as the Association of Diplomats’ Wives took part in this event.
On 27 April, at the closing ceremony of the exhibition TIBO-2007 the participants received their rewards. Beltelecom was given 3 awards as follows:

Diploma for Active Participation, Assistance in the Organization, and Technical Support of the Computer Sport Tournament
It will be recalled that within the framework of TIBO-2007 Beltelecom acted as a partner of the Computer Sport Federation in carrying out and organizing the Counter Strike 1.6 tournament. Beltelecom provided cyber-sportsmen with technical facilities of the Public Access Points in all regional centres.
A free access to the Internet, Wi-Fi and hosting services was provided at Beltelecom`s stand during the exhibition. All visitors to the exhibition were able to assess advantages of broadband Internet access under the byfly trade mark, test Wi-Fi area and choose the type of hosting best suited for their needs.
For the first time, at Beltelecom`s stand there were held everyday seminars on the byfly tariff plans, Wi-Fi technologies and hosting services provided by the Data Processing Centre of Beltelecom. All participants of the seminars received presents.
The action “Get connected to byfly and have a gratis express-payment card” was held within the framework of TIBO-2007.
