OREANDA-NEWS. May 21, 2007. A record number of foreign guests is expected to attend the Gomel Investment Forum scheduled for May 24. Some 20 delegations from 15 European, Asian and African countries will come to Gomel for this purpose. More than 100 foreign businessmen, diplomats, officials of the banking and financial organizations will partake in the forum, BelTA has been told by deputy chair of the economy department of the Gomel oblast executive committee Marina Filonova, reported the press-centre of  Gomelinvest. 
The embassies of Sweden, Bulgaria, Serbia, Slovakia, Latvia and several other states have submitted applications for participation. Representatives of the business circles from Lithuania, Italy, Singapore, Bahrain, Nigeria, Moldova and delegations of several Russian and Ukrainian regions will come to Gomel.
Investment projects including the ones on setting up joint ventures will be presented within the framework of the forum. Officials of the Gomel oblast executive committee will meet with the heads of the official delegations.
Participants of the forum will visit the international universal fair – the exhibition “Spring 2007 in Gomel”, which will be held on May 23-25. The exhibition will feature goods made by 220 companies from 5 countries. Besides, Gomel-made products will account for 35% of the total number of exhibits.
