OREANDA-NEWS. May 24, 2007. The CONVENTION CENTRE Exhibition Complex of in the city of Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) will host the 18th International Invention, Innovation and Technology exhibition (ITEX-2007).

The exhibition is organized and annually held by the Malaysian Innovations and design organization (MINDS) with support rendered by the Department of science, technology and innovations, Department of high education of Malaysia, the Malaysian Corporation of developing foreign trade, Malaysian Corporation of intellectual property and Malaysian association of scientists.

Ministry of education and science of the Russian Federation and Federal Agency on science and innovations acts as an organizer of the unified Russian exposition.

Considering the "ITEX-2007" exhibition to be one of the most efficient international sites for active marketing and search for potential partners in the sphere of civil products the "Rosoboronexport" State Corporation stands as an integral part of the unified Russian exposition with its own booth.

The "Rosoboronexport" State Corporation is a sole Russian state agent in the sphere of exporting and importing defense products. The enterprise has 45 Representative offices abroad and 26 offices in the regions of Russia.

Along with export operations regarding civil products the "Rosoboronexport" State Corporation performs direct procurement of high-tech equipment from foreign manufacturers with subsequent offering it for leasing to machinery building enterprises of the Russian Federation through the authorized structure — the "Oboronpromleasing" JSC. Among others imported equipment goes also for upgrade of the facilities of the enterprises. At the same time optimization of offers is based on establishment of the direct mutually beneficial and long-term relations with foreign manufacturers of technological equipment, advantages of leasing procedures and capacities of the "Rosoboronexport" State Corporation in the sphere of attracting deal financing mechanism beneficial for the lessee.

Besides the defense products the "Rosoboronexport" State Corporation in close cooperation with the Russian research and development organizations and enterprises of the defense industries presents high-tech projects and civil products at the foreign markets.

Experience of the "Rosoboronexport" State Corporation's cooperation with a number of companies from the South-East Asia gained in this sphere makes it possible to expand Russia’s military-and-technical cooperation and to improve its attractiveness for the sake of implementing purely civil tasks.

For example, within the frameworks of the 1995 Contract on delivery of 18 MiG-29 fighters following the offset commitments the "Rosoboronexport" State Corporation established an aerospace school at the Scientific University of Malaysia.

In 2003 the Contract on delivery of the Su-30MK fighters also included a wide-scale offset program. Its results made it possible for Malaysia to organize a licensed production of micro hydro-electric power stations as well as to realize the National space project of injecting a Malaysian satellite constellation into the Earth orbit and space flight of the first Malaysian cosmonaut.

Projects presented by the Corporation at the "ITEX-2007" exhibition belong to the break-through technologies of the 21st century. Altogether exposition contains about 200 high-tech projects offered to the foreign partners that cover such spheres as ecology, energy production, machinery building, medicine, chemistry, development of new materials, etc.

In particular, at the exhibition the "Rosoboronexport" State Corporation presents two promising developments that will participate in a contest for awards of the International Jury of the ITEX-2007. These are as follows — a vacuum disk-type filtering device with ceramic filtering elements and "Astra-ASN" onboard device for navigation, security and dispatching of transport means.

Besides the booth of the Corporation will demonstrate civil developments in the field of ecology (air ionizer of a new generation), chemistry and new materials (basaltic thread and products made of it), electronics (quartz oscillators), security devices (the "Rebus" passive security detector and the "Rastr" optoelectronic detector).

Russia's participation in the ITEX-2007 exhibition will make it possible to once again demonstrate domestic high-end technologies and to synchronize the "Rosoboronexport" strategy on promoting industrial and civil products as well as producer goods and raw materials with real needs of the region.

Representatives of the "Rosoboronexport" State Corporation believe that negotiations in course of the exhibition will assist more active influx of funds to be invested in the Russian science and industry, open new export perspectives for the Russian enterprises developing and manufacturing armament and military materiel.
