OREANDA-NEWS. Primorsky Shipping Company (PMP) started the preparation of the two vessels for the work on transporting oil from the Aniva bay terminal. The first tanker to undergo a planned repair in the dry dock will be the "Gubernator Farhutdinov". In the course of the repair the modernization of the bow on-loading device (NPU) will be accomplished in accordance with the requirements of the terminal.

It will permit the tanker to increase the safety of transportation of the hydrocarbon raw materials in the winter conditions.

The NPU Modernization on the tankers "Gubernator Farhutdinov" and "Ostrov Sakhalin," is one of the main conditions of the long-term contract of the Primorsky Shipping Company with the operator of the "Sakhalin-2" project, the "Sakhalin Energy" Company, signed in September of 2006. According to the agreement, the "Gubernator Farhutdinov" should start working at the terminal in the second half of May, 2007, and next year the "Ostrov Sakhalin" aframax will join her.

Both vessels, each of 108 thousand dead-weight, were built in 2004 at the Brodosplit shipyard in Croatia. For three years they have been engaged in transporting oil to European and Mediterranean ports.
