Rosenergoatom Is Taking Part in Specialized Exhibition “Power Engineering. Electrical Technologies. Energy and Resource Saving”
OREANDA-NEWS. May 15, 2007. Rosenergoatom Concern, the biggest power generating company of Russia, is taking part in the specialized exhibition “Power Engineering. Electrical Technologies. Energy and Resource Saving” that is taking place on May 15–19 2007 in the framework of the 9th International Scientific-Industrial Forum “Great Rivers-2007” in Nizhniy Novgorod, reported the press-centre of Rosenergoatom.
Rosenergoatom has presented the program of nuclear energy development in Russia. The program says that by 2016 the capacity of the Russian NPPs will be increased to 35GW against 23.2GW in 2007. In 2016 they will produce a total of 239bln KWh against 155.6bln KWh in 2007.
The vice governor of Nizhniy Novgorod region Viktor Klochay presented the plans to build an NPP in the region. He noted that safety will be the top priority of this project.
“This project will certainly increase our budget. We will try to actively involve local manufacturing companies and research institutes in this work starting from the design up to the construction and the production of necessary equipment. The bigger work they will do the bigger inflows we will get into our budget,” Klochay said.
A total of 470 organizations from 14 countries and 47 regions of Russia are taking part in the “Great Rivers-2007” forum.
