OREANDA-NEWS. May 18, 2007. On the 8th of May there was held a contest for emergency crews from regional subdivisions of Western power networks of “Sverdlovenergo” Public Company at the place of school ground of Pervouralsk power station.

All participants of contest – electricians, foremen, panel of judges with its chairman, chief engineer of Western power networks of “Sverdlovenergo” Public Company, Alexander Tamkov – gathered together at the place of Pervouralsk region of power networks.

Competitive crews overcame several stages for the day of contest which included check of knowledge of regulatory documents, restringing of high voltage line 0.4 kW at the place of crossing with voltage line 10kW and gabarit measurement at the place of crossing, analysis and determination of loop resistance phase-zero in the network 0.4 kW and selection of automatic cut-out for line fault protection, extinction and one of the most interesting stages – help to a person injured by electrical current and first-aid treatment to him.

The weather conditions were rather challenging that day – it was rain and blasts of north-west wind were about 6 meters per second – but notwithstanding all this foremen and electricians stuffed with all important instruments step by step performed all necessary actions. Judges kept their eyes open to the work of power engineers on each stage.

All emergency crews showed their proficiency.

The crew of Krasnoufimsk power station was found to be the best. This team is choused to be a representative of Western power networks at the contest of emergency crews between network branch companies of “Sverdlovenergo” which should take place on 24-27 of May at the place of East power networks. The second place was won by team of Pervouralsk power station, and the third – by crew of Sysert power station
