Yakunin Meets St. Petersburg Governor Valentina Matviyenko
OREANDA-NEWS. May 15, 2007. Also taking part in the discussions between Vladimir Yakunin, President of Russian Railways, and the Governor of St. Petersburg, Valentina Matviyenko, were Galina Kraft, Head Accountant of Russian Railways, Oleg Toni, Vice-President of Russian Railways, Vitaly Votolevsky, Managing Director of Zheldoripoteka and Viktor Stepov, the Head of Oktober Railways, as well as Yuri Molchanov and Alexander Polykeyev, Deputy Governors of St. Petersburg, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.
The two sides discussed the implementation of joint projects between Russian Railways and St. Petersburg.
“In 2007, Russian Railways plans to invest 17 billion roubles in developing rail facilities and infrastructure in St. Petersburg,” said Vladimir Yakunin.
The money will for the most part be spent on reconstructing the American bridges over the Obvodny Canal and the construction of the bridge on the section along Alexander Farm Prospect.
In addition, the two sides discussed prospects from relocating a series of rail facilities and objects outside the city limits.
