Among additional criteria were readiness for operation in autumn-winter period, improvement of operation and enhancement of efficiency, public relations, use of new types of fuel.

As a result, the jury, led by Rosenergoatom Director General Sergey Obozov, has proclaimed Balakovo NPP (director - V.Ignatov) as the Best NPP of 2006. Kola NPP (director Y. Kolomtsev) is the second, Volgodonsk NPP (director - A. Palamarchuk) - the third.
