OREANDA-NEWS. Vostochny Port JSC exceeded past year's results for the four months. According to information of the central dispatcher’s office of Vostochny Port JSC for the four months of 2007 the Company handled 4,935.5 K tons of different cargoes (103% against the four month of 2006). In April Vostochny Port JSC handled 1,568.4 K tons of cargoes (+11% against the same month in 2006).

The Specialized Coal Handling Terminal shipped 4,648.1 K tons of coal in the four months 2007 (102% against the reporting period in 2006). In April the Terminal handled 1,460.0 K tons of cargoes (+9% against April 2006).

Volume of Universal Handling Terminal grows. The Terminal shipped 287.4 K tons of different cargoes for the four months of 2007 (115% against the same period in 2006). In April it handled 108.4 K tons of cargoes (almost double more against April 2006). According to Mr. Sergey Kushnarev, the General Director of Vostochny Port JSC, the Company succeeded in the volume increase mainly due to good situation in the market of the Asian-Pacific countries. “Our main kinds of cargoes like timber, chemical cargoes, and coal products are in great demand”.
