OREANDA-NEWS. A Gazprom delegation chaired by Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee paid a visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Within the visit, Alexey Miller took part in the extended session attended by Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation and Nursultan Nazarbaev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The parties discussed the progress with the accords achieved and issues on further development of bilateral cooperation in the gas sector. Particularly, the meeting finally agreed on the terms of Kazakh gas marketing and processing based on the Orenburg gas processing plant.

Creating the joint venture on the platform of the Orenburg GPP and boosting Karachaganak gas processing volumes will help secure the full loading of all existing and new upgraded capacities in the long term.

The maximum processing amount (30.6 bcm including 15 bcm of gas from the Karachaganak field) will be reached in 2012.
