On April 28, 2007, an Agreement on Sviaz-Bank entering a Non-Commercial Partnership with the Volga-Ulyanovsk Hockey Club was signed at the PYATOE SOLNTSE Cultural Entertainment Center as part of a celebration evening devoted to the close of the 2006-2007 field hockey season. Next season, Sviaz-Bank will act as general sponsor for the Volga team, reported the press-centre of Sviaz-Bank.
When commenting on the event, Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region Sergei Morozov said: “Reliable financial support of the team is an important task we are delighted to have resolved.” As Sviaz-Bank’s Deputy Executive Chairman Alexander Shalenkov noted, “The Bank is taking active part in implementing not only several major business projects, but also social projects in the Ulyanovsk Region.” “Partnership with the club is a logical continuation of Sviaz-Bank’s work in the Ulyanovsk Region. We not only plan to render assistance in arranging training and games for the team, but also to offer special banking products for Volga’s fans, in particular high interest deposits when their favorite club wins, as well as payment cards with the team’s insignia,” said Alexander Shalenkov.
Alexander Shalenkov presented Volga’s players and trainers with Sviaz-Bank complimentary gold VISA cards.
