OREANDA-NEWS. Almost 50,000 “Georgievsky ribbons” were distributed in the five cities hosting TVEL companies on May 5-8.

In Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Krasnokamensk, Glazov and Elektrostal the ribbons were presented to TVEL employees, war and nuclear power industry veterans and local residents.

Thereby, TVEL has made its contribution to the revival of historical traditions and has shown its respect for the veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

For the first time Georgievsky ribbons - the symbol of respect and gratitude to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War and those killed in the battle fields - appeared in the spring 2005 on the eve of the 60th anniversary of the Great Victory.

Over 3 million ribbons were distributed in 2005. In 2006 the campaign covered NGOs and companies and a total of 5 million ribbons were distributed all over the world.
