OREANDA-NEWS. May 4, 2007. Because of control restrictions Apr 28-May 2 2007 the turbine generators of the 5th unit of Novovoronezh NPP were switched off in turn, i.e. the unit worked at half-capacity.

The emission of radioactive gases and aerosols via the plant’s aerating system given as percentage of the control limits:

— neutral radioactive gases – 4.9 %

— radioactive iodine-131 – 5.0 %

The radiation situation at the plant is within norm.

The averaged gamma radiation background at NNPP, in the town of Novovoronezh and at the 20 points controlled by the Automated Radiation Control System sensors in 13 settlements of the 30-km zone is within norm.
