OREANDA-NEWS. April 29, 2007. Elemash (Mashinostroitelny Zavod, Elektrostal, Moscow region) has become one of the winners of the federal contest “Golden Support” for reduction of electricity consumption during production process. In 2006 the company reduced its electricity consumption by 10,3%, while the production was increased by 15%. Some 49,2mln RUR was spent on the construction of energy saving facilities, reported the press-centre of TVEL.
The contest was instituted by RAO UES Russia in 2005 and is conducted with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of Russia. Over 140,000 enterprises and organizations of Moscow and Moscow regions – clients of Mosenergosbyt (Moscow Electricity Selling Company) — took part in the contest. Only 90 companies survived the first round and just 12 were proclaimed winners.
In his welcoming address the director general of Mosenergosbyt OJSC V.Kimerin noted that Elemash is a reliable partner and has proved its right to the title of one of the best consumers of electrical energy in Russia.
For several years already Elemash has had an ISO 14001 system of ecological management. One of the aspects of the company’s ecological policy is energy saving. Last year the company launched a pumping station, modernized the water circulation system, reconstructed the water boiler. Presently, the company is installing a system of automated recording of energy saving and is reconstructing its sub-stations.
