LUKOIL Back at Full Capacity at Volgograd Refinery
OREANDA-NEWS. On April 25, 2007 at OOO LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka AVT-6 unit which had suffered fire damage on March 10 2007 was put back into operation. The first lots of petroleum, kerosene, diesel fuel and fuel oil have already been delivered, reported the press-centre of LUKOIL.
"The unit was launched before schedule. The refinery is operating at full capacity, which would allow the plant to hit target indicators in 2007, with fuel supply obligations fulfilled in full", said Vladimir Nekrasov, OAO LUKOIL First Vice-President. As reported earlier, the fire was extinguished at the unit within 2 hours. The incident resulted in no casualties. The land was not contaminated. Equipment decompression caused the incident which lead to self-combustion of the petroleum products. The damage will be fully indemnified by insurance companies.
