EuroChem Enterprise in Novomoskovsk Increases Nitrogen Fertilizer Production by 3,4%
OREANDA-NEWS. In the first quarter of 2007 Novomoskovsk Joint-Stock Company Azot, a subsidiary of EuroChem Mineral and Chemical Company, increased nitrogen fertilizer output (100% nutrient content) by 3,4% to 198,970 tonnes, reported the press-centre of EuroChem. In January-March the enterprise produced 397,170 tonnes of ammonia, up 0,8% from the same period last year (hereinafter, total output in natural weight). Ammonium nitrate output grew 16% to 320,000 tonnes. Due to the upgrade of Urea-3 shop, the urea production was reduced during the first quarter to 190,000 tonnes (down 5,5% from 2006).
A successful product launch and favorable market conditions were the main reasons for more than a three-fold increase in the output of a new nitrogen-lime fertilizer. In total, the year-to-date output of this product was 20,460 tonnes. A substantial growth was seen in separate chlorine segments. Thus, the enterprise produced 4,670 tonnes of sodium hypochlorite (up 8,9%); 1,520 tonnes of granulated calcium chloride (up 3,5%); 3,010 tonnes of calcium chloride solution (a 3,6-fold increase). An upward trend was observed in organics segment as well. In total, 5,980 tonnes of various products was produced (up 4,1%). The total year-to-date output of methanol was 112,620 tonnes, up 9,3% from the previous year; while vinyl chloride output was 6,650 tonnes (up 1,0%).
