In Q1 2007 EuroChem Enterprise in Belorechensk Achieves a 2,8-Fold Increase in Domestic Shipments
OREANDA-NEWS. On April 24, 2007 EuroChem enterprise in Belorechensk achieved its targets for Q1 2007 in all product categories. The total amount of solid mineral fertilizers produced (in natural terms) was 63,300 tonnes, i.e. 75% of the level for the corresponding period last year. The output reduction was due to scheduled major overhauls of sulphuric and phosphoric acid shops, reported the press-centre of EuroChem.
For the first three months of the year EuroChem - Belorechenskie Minudobrenia produced 49,800 tonnes of ammophos (MAP, 102% year-on-year); 13,500 tonnes of grade 20:20 sulphoammophos (NP, 39%). The scheduled reduction in grade 20:20 sulphoammophos reflected market conditions. In January - March the output of sulphuric acid was 101,000 tonnes, or 76% of the level of 2006; wet-process phosphoric acid - 39,000 tonnes, or 85% year-on-year. The reduction in acid production compared to the corresponding period last year was due to major overhauls of sulphuric and wet process phosphoric acid shops in the first quarter of the year.
The first quarter was marked by the launch of the first phase of the distribution center organized at the enterprise, which enabled EuroChem - BMU to successfully increase fertilizer shipments to the domestic market and CIS-countries. In March the enterprise shipped by truck and rail over 17,000 tonnes of ammophos packed in big bags. Belorechensk ammophos is still in great demand in key agricultural areas of the country. In Q1 2007 EuroChem - BMU achieved a 2,8-increase in shipments year-on-year (36,000 tonnes, of which 25,700 tonnes of ammophos). In total EuroChem - BMU shipped 83,800 tonnes of solid mineral fertilizers in the first quarter of 2007.
