OREANDA-NEWS. In 2006, Russian Railways branded trains carried 29 million passengers, 1 million passengers more than in 2005. At the moment, 109 branded trains with coaches offering extra comfort run on Russia s railway network, including seven on international routes. Passengers can enjoy a wide range of food and additional services.  Between 2001 and 2006, the number of coaches offering extra comfort increased from 458 to 2,251 during the peak season. Coaches providing additional comfort on long-distance routes increased from 1.9% of all passenger coaches to 9% during the same period.
