The ED6 Electric Train Has Successfully Undergone a Checkout Run on the VNIIJT Trial Circle
OREANDA-NEWS. On April 18, 2007 the ED6 electric train manufactured by the Demikhovsky Engineering Plant has successfully undergone a 2,000 km checkout run on the Railway Transport Research Institute (VNIIJT) trial circle in Sherbinka, reported the press-centre of Transmashholding. As of now, the ED6 electric train has completed the whole set of acceptance tests. The acceptance committee, however, made a decision that the new electric train motor bogies should be updated.
When the upgrade works have been finished new tests began. The ED6 had a 2,000 km checkout run in March. The tests focused on vibration level of the motor cars undercarriage are being conducted on the Railway Transport Research Institute (VNIIJT) trial circle. In May, 2007, the train will arrive at the Moscow Railway part, namely Moscow-Tula-Skuratovo, to take a 15,000 km operating run.
