JSC "Bank TuranAlem" and East Kazakhstan Region’s Administration Agree to Cooperate
OREANDA-NEWS. In Ust-Kamenogorsk the Chairman of the Board JSC "Bank TuranAlem" Mr. Roman Solodchenko and the Governor of East Kazakhstan region Mr. Djanibek Karibzhanov signed Memorandum of cooperation.
The parties determined general aspects of the bilateral cooperation in the Memorandum, after they have assessed economic, social and political situation in the region, discussed prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation, potentials and needs of the business community and population of the region. In particular the parties have agreed to implement joint long-term projects in metallurgy, power engineering and construction. Moreover, the Bank and the region’s administration are intending to perform innovative projects to issue competitive products. The Bank has set priorities in business development in the East Kazakhstan region such as to widen services for population mainly in mortgage and consumer lending, to provide complex cash settlement service for governmental organizations and utility enterprises under specially developed tariffs.
"Signing of the Memorandum confirms our purpose to expand our activities in this region of Kazakhstan. This document will further be developed with a practical sense, will allow the bank and the region administration to cooperate closer in the information exchange, to assist companies operating in the real economic sector of the Republic", said Roman Solodchenko at the signing ceremony. The parties were satisfied with the fruitful cooperation and a considerable contribution to the region’s economy by the Bank TuranAlem subsidiaries. Thus, since 2001 BTA branches in the East Kazakhstan region have given more than 73183 loans with the total amount 119 826 mln.tenge, at that in 2006 this amount comprised 38 697 mln.tenge. With the aim to contribute to the region’s economy development at a maximum extent, JSC TuranAlem takes part in financing projects of different spheres.
Financial support on mutually beneficial basis was given to a number of large region’s projects: the beginning of the construction of the first in the Republic of Kazakhstan incomplete vehicle manufacturing plant JSC "ASIA AUTO", financing of trade deals of GC "BIPEC AUTO", GC SPF "LIK", GC "MELOMAN", financing of JSC "Ulbinskiy metallurgical plant", LLP "Cheremshanskaya poultry factory", LLP "RATING", LLP SPF "TITAN", GC "ROYAL AUTO", LLP "Bona", LLP "Beakris", GC "Auto saloon Techauto", LLP "Semipalatinskiy Fur Tannery", LLP "Shigis Susindary" (former Semey Su), LLP "Firm Miras", LLP "Aiya and K" and many others.
As far as small and medium business development is important for economy, the Bank considers this sector as one of the most priority-driven. Since 2001 the Bank’s subsidiaries in EKR have financed SMB subjects total of 58 182 mln.tenge, at that in 2006 this amount comprised 20 565 mln.tenge. In the period 2001-2006 the Bank has attracted customer’s deposits total of 15298 mln.tenge; given 4828 mortgage loans, 209 of which are within State housing program. In East Kazakhstan JSC "Bank TuranAlem" has two subsidiaries in Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semipalatinsk. There is a wide network of large cash settlement units providing broad range of banking products and services. In particular, there are14 universal bank branches (Population Service Centers, Banking Service Centers) in Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semipalatinsk. The number of East Kazakhstan BTA consumers as at January 1, 2007 comprised 92436 among them 6363 are legal entities and 86073 - physical persons.
JSC "Bank TuranAlem" (BTA) is the core of the financial group existing in all segments of the financial market. The network of the banks which are BTA strategic partners is spread over Ukraine, 4 regions of Russia, Byelorussia, Georgia and Armenia. Representative offices are operating in Russia, Byelorussia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and United Arab Emirates. The assets of the BTA group as at the beginning of 2007 comprise $16,3 bln, aggregate shareholders’ equity $2 bln. Consolidation of the aggregate assets is planned for 2007 with increase up to $50 bln by 2015.
For the last two years Bank TuranAlem was awarded several times. The "Euromoney" magazine recognized BTA as "the Best Bank in Central Asia", "the Best Bank in CIS" and "the Best Borrower in the Developing Markets", The Banker magazine recognized BTA as "The bank of the Year - 2005" in Kazakhstan. The Consumers National league named BTA "Perfect Bank" twice. The organizational committee of the public national award "Golden Altyn" gave the highest appreciation "Grand Prix" in nomination - "The best bank of 2006"
