OREANDA-NEWS. On April 18, 2007 the 5th IT-Leader awarding took place in Moscow. TVEL has won an award in the “Machine Building” nomination, while the company’s vice president for corporate management Konstantin Sokolov has got a personal prize, reported the press-centre of TVEL.


The award has been given for TVEL’s Corporate Information System project. The system is aimed at enhancing the efficiency of corporate management and control over the nuclear fuel cycle. Presently, TVEL’s IT specialists are developing a corporate data transfer network and information protection and integrated information systems in line with the international business standards. Sokolov said that IT systems are part of TVEL’s infrastructure, “our priority for the time being is to complete the project of corporate information system. We believe that this system will significantly enhance the transparency of our activities and the efficiency of our decisions”. This year the jury comprised 23 leading IT experts, among them Olga Dergunova (Microsoft), Boris Scherbakov (Oracle), Nick Rossiter (Symantec).
